Rema Wins Two Awards at the 2024 ASCAP Music Awards in London

During Paris Fashion Week, Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema wowed the crowd at Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Spring-Summer Show.

At the same time, his hit song ‘Calm Down’ was winning big at the 2024 ASCAP London Music Awards.

The song took home the prestigious Song of the Year and Top Streaming Song awards. The talented co-writers and co-producers, Michael Hunter (known as London) and Andre Vibez, were also honored.

These awards bring Rema’s total to three from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), making him the Nigerian or African artist with the most ASCAP awards.

In fact, Rema is the most awarded African artist of 2024, with six awards so far. His accolades include the Trends Award in Brazil, an iHeartRadio Music Award, an ASCAP Pop Music Award, and two ASCAP London Music Awards.

Notably, ‘Calm Down’ recently made history as the first Afrobeats song to surpass 1 billion on-demand streams in the US.
